Reasoning about Hybrid States

چکیده
In this paper, we present a new semantics for the well-known normal system of modal logic K based on the notion of convergence spaces. The purpose is to use convergence spaces to model and reason about systems with both discrete and continuous states, so-called hybrid state spaces. K is sound and complete with respect to the class of convergence space models, and we show that Kripke frames and McKinsey and Tarski’s topological frames are special cases of our convergence space models.

Towards a Hybrid Dynamic Logic for Hybrid Dynamic Systems
We introduce a hybrid variant of a dynamic logic with continuous state transitions along differential equations, and we present a sequent calculus for this extended hybrid dynamic logic. With the addition of satisfaction operators, this hybrid logic provides improved system introspection by referring to properties of states during system evolution. In addition to this, our calculus introduces s...
متن کاملNamed Models in Coalgebraic Hybrid Logic
Hybrid logic extends modal logic with support for reasoning about individual states, designated by so-called nominals. We study hybrid logic in the broad context of coalgebraic semantics, where Kripke frames are replaced with coalgebras for a given functor, thus covering a wide range of reasoning principles including, e.g., probabilistic, graded, default, or coalitional operators. Specifically,...
متن کاملQuantified Differential Temporal Dynamic Logic for Verifying Properties of Distributed Hybrid Systems
We combine quantified differential dynamic logic (QdL) for reasoning about the possible behavior of distributed hybrid systems with temporal logic for reasoning about the temporal behavior during their operation. Our logic supports verification of temporal and non-temporal properties of distributed hybrid systems and provides a uniform treatment of discrete transitions, continuous evolution, an...
متن کاملA Temporal Dynamic Logic for Verifying Hybrid System Invariants
We combine first-order dynamic logic for reasoning about possible behaviour of hybrid systems with temporal logic for reasoning about the temporal behaviour during their operation. Our logic supports verification of hybrid programs with first-order definable flows and provides a uniform treatment of discrete and continuous evolution. For our combined logic, we generalise the semantics of dynami...
متن کاملRecursive and Backward Reasoning in the Verification of Hybrid Systems
In this paper we introduce two improvements to the method of verification of hybrid systems by constraint propagation based abstraction refinement that we introduced earlier. The first improvement improves the recursive propagation of reachability information over the regions constituting the abstraction, and the second improvement reasons backward from the set of unsafe states, instead of reas...
